European Cooperations in Youth Development

Project Summary
European Cooperations in Youth Development is a European EVS project, which works towards Youth and Community Development. Within this theme of Development, two volunteer will get the opportunity to live and work in the Netherlands, in the office of Code-X International, alongside Dutch volunteers, in an effort to learn from each other and to build strong development projects. Some of your task include:
• Collecting second hand material for refurbishment and redistribution to youth in developing countries
• Establishing contacts and networks in the European youth field
• Fundraising and PR activities
Assisting in community based activities, for youth
Over the course of 12 months, the volunteers will work on such exciting projects as Tools4Change, World-wide Volunteer Projects for Youth and community-based activities. They will be encouraged to integrate into the Dutch community with intercultural activities and regular Dutch language lessons.
The main objectives of the project are as follows:
• For youth volunteers to fully integrate into a different culture and become more culturally sensitive.
• For youth volunteers to engage in voluntary activities which match their personal or professional interest
• To build the skill sets in the field of youth and community development
• To allow the youth volunteers to contribute to the development of deprived and excluded youth
Project Guidelines:
Please take note of the following conditions that apply to each possible participant:
1. Possible candidates should have a keen interest in project development and program management
2. Volunteers should work well in multicultural environments and be respectful of cultural differences
3. Volunteers will learn all aspects of the organization and will take part in Networking, PR and fundraising
4. Volunteers have all of the rights and responsibilities within the EVS Charter.
